The weather for this Monday: warnings for cold, snow, wind or strong waves throughout Spain

Precipitation will be abundant to a greater extent in areas of the Strait and the Central, Iberian and Penibetic systems.

The cold front that crosses the Peninsula will leave this Monday locally persistent rainfall in Galicia, Cantabrian and Pyrenees western, snowfall above 600-1000 meters in the northern half of the peninsula and intervals of strong wind in numerous areas of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, which will be very strong in the Bay of Biscay.

According to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), it is expected that a cold front associated with storm Bella continue sweeping the Peninsula from northwest to southeast, leaving in its wake abundant cloudiness and precipitation, which will subside from the northwest, opening up clear, except in Galicia, Cantabrian and western Pyrenees, where they will remain throughout the day, could be locally persistent and accompanied of storm

The rains will be more abundant in the Strait and the Central, Iberian and Penibetic systems. The temperatures minimums will rise markedly in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands and the maxims will descend in the extreme north of the peninsula and in mountain areas, rising slightly on the Mediterranean coast.

GALICIA: Cloudy or covered with widespread precipitation and occasionally accompanied by storms, which can be locally strong and persistent in mountain areas, in the northern third and in the extreme southwest. Mists and fogs in mountainous areas of the southeast. Snow level between 700-800 meters at dawn rising to 1000-1100 meters during the day. Rising minimum temperatures, locally notable in interior and southwestern points; descending highs, light in the western third. Weak frosts in eastern mountain areas. On the coast, strong northwest wind with very strong gusts that soon decrease south of Fisterra and in the rest at the end of the day; inland, wind from the west and northwest decreasing to light in the south, with very strong gusts at first in the mountain areas and in the northern third, persisting in A Mariña until the afternoon.

PRINCIPALITY OF ASTURIAS: Cloudy or covered with widespread precipitation, occasionally with storms, which could be locally strong and persistent on the coast and in the southwest. Mists and mists in the Cordillera. Snow level between 600-700 meters at dawn, rising to 800-900 meters, although temporarily during the afternoon it will rise to 1000 meters. Snow level between 500-700 meters rising to 800-1000 meters. Minimum temperatures increasing. Maximums in decline in the coast and Liébana, in slight increase in Campoo and without changes in the rest. Light frosts in high areas of the extreme south. West component wind with very strong gusts, especially on the coast.

BASQUE COUNTRY: Cloudy or covered. Rains and showers, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms, which can be locally persistent on the coast, decreasing rainfall during the central hours, being weak and scattered, and increasing again in intensity at the end of the day, especially in the northern half. Snow level between 500-700 meters rising to 800-1000 meters. Temperatures unchanged or with slight local increases. Weak and scattered frosts in high areas of the southeast. West component wind, with very strong gusts on the coast and high areas.

CASTILE AND LEON: Cloudy or covered sky with cloudy intervals in the central hours of the day. Weak rainfall at dawn, which will subside on the plateau, and will remain more intermittent in mountain areas, except in the C. Cantábrica where they will be persistent. Snow level of 1,200 meters in the north and 1,500 in the south, dropping to 700 in general, except in the southwest at about 1,000. Minimum temperatures rising, notable in the southwest and light in the northeast, and maximum falling in mountain areas, and unchanged in the rest. Light frosts in high areas. Winds from the west and southwest, with very strong gusts at first at any point, and later more occasionally in mountain areas.

FORAL COMMUNITY OF NAVARRE: In the northern third, cloudy or covered with rain and showers, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms, decreasing precipitation during the central hours, being weak and scattered, and increasing again in intensity at the end of the day. In the rest, cloudy with early morning precipitation tending to cloudy intervals. Snow level between 500-700 meters rising to 800-1000 meters. Temperatures without changes or with slight local increases, except for the maximum in the Pyrenees that will drop slightly. Weak frosts in the Pyrenees, which can also occur in a scattered way in the western mountains. West component wind, with very strong gusts in the extreme west and north.

THE RIOJA: Cloudy or covered with cloudy intervals in the valley. Weak early morning precipitation, subsiding in the morning, and which may occur again, occasionally, at the end of the day. Snow level of 1300 down to 700 meters. Minimum rising and maximum temperatures without changes or slightly decreasing. Weak frosts in the Iberian. Winds from the west, with very strong gusts until the afternoon.

ARAGON: In the northern third, cloudy sky or covered with precipitation, locally persistent. In the rest, cloudy with early morning precipitation, tending to slightly cloudy in the morning. Snow level between 500 and 1,000 meters in the northern third and between 900 and 1,200 meters in the Ibérica. Minimum rising temperatures; maximum in descent in the Pyrenees and the southern half and with few changes or in slight rise in the rest. Frosts in the Pyrenees and in the Ibérica de Teruel. West component wind, moderate with very strong gusts during the first half of the day.

CATALONIA: Cloudy or covered sky in the early hours, tending in the morning to a little cloudy in general, except in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees where the cloudiness will be abundant. Early morning rainfall is expected in Lleida and Tarragona and with less probability in the interior of Girona and Barcelona. During the rest of the day only precipitation is expected in the Pyrenees of Lleida. Snow level between 500 and 800 meters. Minimum rising temperatures; maximum in descent in the Pyrenees and unchanged or slightly rising in the rest. Frost in the Pyrenees. Loose to moderate west wind with very strong gusts on the coast, pre-coastal and Pyrenees.

ESTREMADURA: Cloudy or covered with weak precipitation, which will move from north to south, subsiding in the afternoon and tending to cloudy intervals in the north, and slightly cloudy in the rest. Snow level over 1,500 meters descending to 1,200, and occasionally lower in the north. Minimum temperatures in notable ascent, and maximum without changes, or in slight decrease in the south. Weak frosts in Gredos. Winds from the northwest to the west, with strong gusts at dawn in mountain areas.

MADRID’S COMMUNITY: Cloudy or covered, with rains and showers at dawn that will subside during the morning, decreasing at cloudy intervals without precipitation in the afternoon. Snow level around 700-900 meters rising in the afternoon to 800-1000 meters. Probable mist and some fog bank in mountain areas. Minimum temperatures increasing, which will be locally notable in southern areas of the Community and slight or unchanged in the Sierra. Maximum temperatures in decline in high areas of the mountains and unchanged or slightly rising in the rest. Weak frosts in high areas of the Sierra. West and southwest wind, occasionally strong in the early hours and with very strong gusts in high areas of the Sierra, decreasing in intensity after noon.

CASTILLA LA MANCHA: Cloudy or covered, with rains and showers at dawn in the north that will spread to the rest of the community in a more dispersed way until noon and that will subside from north to south, decreasing in the afternoon at cloudy intervals. Snow level around 700-900 meters in the north and 900-1000 meters in the rest. Scattered mists and fog banks are not ruled out, more likely in northeast mountain areas. Minimum temperatures on the rise, locally notable in Toledo, Ciudad Real and Albacete, and maximum temperatures on the decline, pronounced in Parameras de Molina and in the Alcaraz and Segura mountain ranges, and slight or with few changes in the rest. Light frosts in northeastern mountain areas. Wind from the west and southwest, locally strong in the early hours, with very strong gusts in the east and in the Tagus Valley, decreasing in intensity after noon.

VALENCIAN COMMUNITY: At first, cloudy with probable scattered rainfall in Valencia, north of Alicante and interior of Castellón, tending towards midday to slightly cloudy. Minimum temperatures in notable rise; maximum in decline in the interior of Castellón and north of Alicante and with few changes in the rest. Moderate west wind, with very strong gusts in the interior of Valencia and Castellón and in the north of Alicante during the first half of the day.

REGION OF MURCIA: Cloudy or overcast skies, without ruling out light rainfall in the interior, with snow levels dropping to 1,200 meters at the end of the day. Minimum temperatures in notable rise; maximum in descent in the Northwest, in ascent in the coast and without changes in the rest. West component winds, with strong intervals and very strong gusts in high areas; and in the extreme west in the early hours.

BALEARIC ISLANDS: Slightly cloudy sky temporarily tending to cloudy intervals with an occasional shower, preferably in the morning in Mallorca and Menorca. Nocturnal temperatures from notable to extraordinary rise, and diurnal temperatures in slight rise. Strong west and southwest wind with gusts of 80 km/h in general and 110 km/h on peaks and capes, decreasing in intensity in the afternoon.

ANDALUSIA: Cloudy or covered skies with widespread rainfall, without reaching the eastern end. They will be generally weak, more intense and persistent in the mountains. The snow level will drop to 1,000-1,200 meters in the northeast of the community by the end of the day. Rainfall will recede from north to south throughout the afternoon, leaving slightly cloudy skies at the end, except in the northeast mountains where they will remain cloudy with weak precipitation. Rising minimum temperatures, locally notable; maximum in descent in the eastern interior and unchanged or rising in the rest. Westerly component winds, strong with very strong gusts in the eastern half and the Strait area, decreasing in the evening.

CANARY ISLANDS: Predominance of slightly cloudy skies in the eastern islands; in Gran Canaria some interval of evolution is expected, increasing to cloudy intervals in the north and northeast at the end of the day. In the western province, cloudy intervals with occasional rains. Slight haze. Slightly falling temperatures. Northeast wind in the easternmost islands, being weak in a variable direction and turning northeast during the afternoon in the rest of the islands.
